Keyword Research: How to Find the Right Keyword Phrase for my Warrior Forum Challenge
Since I am relatively new at internet marketing, I have been doing a tremendous amount of research regarding this subject. I cannot believe the amount of useless crap that is all over the internet. If you tried following the advise of many so-called experts, you would basically be wasting your time and energy.
As I am starting my 30 Day Warrior Forum Challenge today, I have decided that the best place to start is at the beginning - Keyword research. I have read hundreds of articles that tell you the best way to find profitable keywords is to simply type your selected keywords into Google and determine you level of competition. This really has not helped me much, since it does not tell me how many other internet marketers are trying to make money in this niche. Since I do not want to try and compete with the big boys yet, I want a niche that will allow me to get on the first page of Google relatively quick.
While reading through the Warrior Forum today, I came across a link that truly provided quality Keyword Marketing Research. In this post, potpiegirl explains how she uses Google to realistically determine how many internet marketers are actively optimizing their blogs for these keywords. This tells you who your true competition is.
To use this technique, pull up your Google Browser and type in the following:
intitle:”your long-tail keyword” inanchor:”your long-tail keyword”
Using this technique, I have found what I think is a good, and profitable, long-tail keyword. I will be using this for my article marketing experiment. My homework for tonight is to write a few introductory articles for my “affiliate blog”. I have created a free blogspot blog instead of purchasing a new domain name, as I am trying to prove that I can do this without spending any money (a true bum marketing method experiment).
Join me tomorrow as I dig in a bit deeper.
