How To Avoid Blogger Burnout - Have You Ever Been Affected By Writer’s Block

Published by passivestreams at 11:08 pm under Planning Edit This

Blogger burnout is a serious problem that most of us will face at one time or another. Writer’s block, as it is more commonly known, can strike at any time and often without warning. I read a ton of different blogs everyday. Some of my favorite writers have simply stopped producing new content. While I realize that life happens, I cannot help but be sad. Sad for myself, sad for the readers, just plain sad. While not all dead blogs can be attributed to blogger burnout, I would venture a guess that a large percentage can be.

Here are a few ways to limit the chance of you getting writer’s block.

1. Do Not Post Too Often - If you post too often, you may run out of interesting things to discuss. Try not to publish 10 posts during one week and none the following week. This will confuse your readers and may actually prevent them from coming back.

2. Blog About What You Enjoy - Too often, bloggers will create blogs around certain niches merely because they appear to be profitable. While you may make a few dollars, you will quickly hate what you are doing. From there it is a short jump to letting your blog die.

3. Have Realistic Expectations - Clearly define why you are blogging. Do you do it because you love it, or is it for the money. Either way, your readers will be able to tell the difference.

What other tips can you think of that will help prevent blogger burnout?

@ PFI - I agree completely. If any readers are checking out this comment, you should immediately click over to passivefamilyincome and read John’s blog. It is amazing!

@ Steve - Like you quoted on your blog - “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.” Seneca, Roman philosopher, mid-1st century AD

Work hard doing what you love and when the opportunity arrives grab it and don’t let go.
